IXP Deployment Notes

This page should outline some ground rules for deploying or requesting an IXP connection.

We do not accept Forms & PeeringDB entries with:
-AS-Sets with IRR DB Prefix (eg. RIPE::AS-XY or ARIN::AS-XY)
-Prefix limits larger than 20% of current announced space
-AS-Sets if the ASN has no downstreams
-Incorrectly named AS-Sets (eg. AS123:AS-Peers)

When connecting to the IXP, make sure to adhere to best practices, such as outlined here: https://manrs.org/2020/12/ixp-peering-platform-an-environment-to-take-care-of/
Make sure you dont send any proxy-arp, STP, OSPF, LLDP, MSDP, CDP, DHCP, RA, Bonjour, and other non-peering packets to the IXP interface.
You may need to consult your router's manual to disable those protocols on the IXP port.
Failure to adhere to those practices may leed into port suspension or cancellation by the IXP.
